Actor Will Ferrell arrived at the Newseum, a museum dedicated to news and journalism, in Washington, DC to talk about his new film Anchorman 2. [1]
Answering questions asked by Washington Post film [2] critic Ann Hornaday, Ferrell talked about his joy in playing Ron Burgundy, the bumbling 1970's era San Diego anchorman he made famous in the original 2004 film.
"We never thought we'd do a sequel to begin with. And of course, the nature of entertainment media kind of follows this pattern: 'When are you ever going to make a sequel?
"'Please, please make a sequel. Please make a sequel. Please make a sequel.'
"Guess what, we made a sequel. 'Are you worried about the sequel?' Are you worried about upholding the legacy of the first movie? Pretty scary! Sequels don't always work. They don't ever work in fact.
"Did you make a horrible decision?' to 'Is there going to be a third one?'"
Anchorman 2 is due to be released in UK cinemas on December 18.
