To celebrate his 44th birthday, the rapper and his wife decide to do 'spiritual and physical cleanse' by excluding meat from their menu.
saw the signs that he has to go vegan for 22 days to celebrate his 44th birthday. The rapper announced on his Life and Times blog that he and his singer wife have vowed to keep meat off the table until Christmas.
"On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!!" Jay-Z wrote. He had been introduced to "plant-based breakfast" when presented with the challenge by a friend, and found it easier than he thought.
The numbers have something to do with his decision. "Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you've found the way," he said, adding "There's something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day ...It just feels right!"
Jay-Z promised to keep his readers posted on his progress. "I don't know what happens after Christmas," he admitted. "A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We'll see..."
As a start, the parents of Blue Ivy were seen leaving vegan restaurant, Real Food Daily, on Tuesday, December 3.
