Britney Spears boutique opens in Las Vegas

Britney Spears arrived in Las Vegas in early December to celebrate her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood, which begins on Friday. Now a Britney boutique is open in the strip's Miracle Mile Shops. [Racked Vegas]^[1]

Lucky is starting 2014 with two magazine covers in a row featuring women of color: Kerry Washington on the January front, and Zoe Saldana on the February issue. [Fashionista]^[2]

"Mad Men" costume designer Janie Bryant is partnering with e-tailer Mack Weldon on a collection of men's socks that's expected to debut in 2014. [Racked]^[3]

Frederick Fox, an Australian-born milliner who made more than 350 hats for Queen Elizabeth II and also designed hats for Princess Diana, Hillary Rodham Clinton and the actress Joan Collins, died in London at age 82 earlier this month, the New York Times reports. [NYT] ^[5]

Former Tiffany executive Ingrid Lederhaas-Okun has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $1.2 million in jewelry from the company's Fifth Avenue location. [CBS News]^[6]

Some overseas companies that supply clothing for uniformed American government workers (such as airport security officers and forest rangers, as well as logoed clothing sold on military bases) have a pattern of poor labor conditions, Ian Urbina reports in the New York Times. [NYT]^[7]
