Ratings: Bachelor Premiere Hits Three-Year High; Hostages Ends on Low Note - Seattle Post Intelligencer

The Bachelor ^[1] is off to a, uh, Juan-derful start.

Winter TV: Must-see new shows^[2]

Monday's two-hour season premiere drew 8.5 million viewers and a 2.7 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic to post the show's best premiere numbers in three years. Juan Pablo^[3] & Co. were also up 17 percent from last year's opener with Bachelor Sean Lowe. Castle ^[4] followed with 8.8 million and a 1.8, down 14 percent from its last new episode, but it was enough to help ABC^[5] win the night.

CBS' two-hour Hostages ^[6] finale (4.8 million, 1.0) dropped two tenths to tie a series low.

On Fox, Almost Human^[7] (6.2 million, 1.7) was up a tenth.
