The New Jersey waitress accused of doctoring a receipt with an anti-gay message to garner sympathy is no longer employed at the restaurant.
The Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater N.J. reported on its Facebook page Saturday[1] that Dayna Morales and the business made a "joint decision" that she should no longer work there.
"We wish her well in the future," the restaurant stated. "Overall, this has been an unfortunate incident for Gallop Asian Bistro, our employees, and our customers."
Morales worked at the Gallop Asian Bistro in Brentwood, N.J.

Morales, who is openly gay, made international news last month when she posted a photo on the Facebook page, Have a Gay Day[3] , of a note her customers had left won the receipt stating, "I'm sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle."
The customers later came forward and said they left no such note and in fact tipped Morales $18 on the $93.55 bill, TV station NBC 4 New York reported.
The Brentwood restaurant, seen above, posted on its Facebook page that Morales was no longer employed there.

The restaurant said it conducted an internal investigation of the incident, but could not determine exactly what happened.
Dayna Morales, who said she was harassed by a customer for being openly gay, made a ‘joint decision’ with her employer to terminate her employment.
"Despite news reports to the contrary, this is not a simple, straight-forward matter," the business said. "The results of that investigation are inconclusive as to exactly what happened between Ms. Morales and the customers that night."
An owner for the restaurant could not be immediately reached for comment Sunday morning.

At left, the receipt Dayna Morales posted online, compared to the receipt on the right — which shows the waitress had indeed received a monetary tip.
When news of the alleged snubbed tip occurred, Morales received thousands of dollars in donations, some of which the ex-Marine said would be donated to the Wounded Warriors project. Some of the donations have been refunded from the PayPal account set up in her name, NBC 4 reported[6] .
Morales served in the Marines Reserve Corps from 2009 until she was dishonorably discharged in May for not attending drills, NBC 4 reported citing military sources[7] .
Another former colleague also told the station she didn't think this was the first time Morales had made up a story. She claimed Morales worked at the Cheesecake Factory in Nyack, N.Y., and told coworkers she had brain cancer last year.

Dayna Morales once served in the Marines before she was dishonorably discharged.
"She came in with her hair shaved because she wanted to shave it herself before she lost it," Jacqie Fitzpatrick told the station[8] .
Morales could not be reached for comment Sunday.
