The Voice[2]

Tessanne Chin's coach, Adam Levine, alluded to a personal and private burden she'd been carrying this week, but she channeled those raw emotions into her performance on The Voice on Monday, with a searing version of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" that had the audience on its feet cheering.

Pouring out her heart, the Jamaican power vocalist ended her song with a sustained note that showcased her strength and likely cemented her place in the show's final as the last five contestants battled in the live semifinals round.

"That was crazy what just happened," Levine[6] said. "The sheer talent is just ? I think that is probably the most flawless and graceful performance I've ever heard on this show."

Chin was not the only singer to let it all go Monday.

The usually reserved Will Champlin[7] took off his trademark glasses, playing no instruments and using just a mic and heightened stage appeal on Fun's "Carry On" for Team Adam[8] . As his confidence clearly grew, and as the crowd saw his passion, Champlin did something uncharacteristic: he smiled broadly, earning praise for finally showing off his sunnier side.

"I don?t think I've ever seen this happen. Look at this smile," Levine said. "I know if Will is smiling, he knows he definitely did well. You're so hard on yourself and you're such a hard worker. That delights me."

Jacquie Lee[9] , Christina Aguilera[10] 's lone contestant, also dazzled. Singing Sarah McLachlan's "Angel," the 16-year-old performed it with a maturity beyond her years.

"Wow, you blew me away," said Aguilera[11] , who gave Lee a standing ovation. "That was probably the most perfect ? it was wonderful," said Cee Lo Green[12] , who confided to the teen that although he had no artists left in the competition, she made him feel so connected to the music.

The lushly bearded Cole Vosbury blended Southern rock and blue-eyed soul on the Garth Brooks[13] hit "Shameless," prompting his coach, Blake Shelton[14] , to tell him that he'd achieved his goal of finding out what kind of artist he wanted to be.

"I think you figured out who you are and what you want to do and what you're really good at," Shelton told him. "Mission accomplished, dude."

Team Adam's third artist left in the show, James Wolpert, took on U2's reflective rock anthem "With Or Without You." Looking like a hipster Clark Kent in a color-blocked gray and black jacket and skinny tie, the baby-faced Wolpert easily delivered a performance that Levine said made him "proud."

"I think you're great and you being the save last week, you needed a moment like that," Shelton said. "You might have dug yourself out of that hole. That was really strong."

One artist will be eliminated when the show continues Tuesday, and the episode will also feature performances by season four winner Danielle Bradbery[15] and runner-up Michelle Chamuel[16] .
