When he's finished promoting 'Black Panties,' R. Kelly will be getting into the festive spirit by making on his own Christmas album - but fans will have to wait until 2014 to hear his christmassy offerings.
Although he started work on the album in 2012, other projects including his recently-released 12th studio album and collaborations with Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga have meant the festive record has been shelved for the time being.

The crooner, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, revealed to Rap-Up.com that he's already named the album, saying: "I’m working on a Christmas album right now called the 12 Nights of Christmas". The 46-year-old also confirmed that fans can expect a typically sexy style - it's probably not going to be a family-friendly collection.
"It’s gonna be a lot of lovemaking,” he added. “I come with that bearing gifts.”
R. Kelly is in no rush to finish the record, explaining that he wasn't willing to rush the creative process to release the album in time for Christmas 2013. “I started it last Christmas actually, but I don’t believe in just putting out a Christmas album just to sell records," he said.
"It has to be the next [This Christmas]. In order to get that and capture that moment, you have to take a couple of Christmases and then you come with it."
The 'Ignition (Remix)' creator teasingly added that he has another regular album on the way, adding that it will recreate the tone of his multi-platinum selling debut '12 Play'. “My next album is halfway written already. I haven't named it yet. It’s gonna be another 12 Play album," he revealed. "It’s gonna be that type of album because there’s been a lovemaking album drought…and I’ve come to save the day.”

The singer-songwriter and producer has made a name for himself where sexy tracks are concerned, releasing his own singles including 'The Greatest Sex' and 'Feelin' On Yo Booty'. He also helped out Justin Bieber last month, pairing up with the 'Baby' singer to create the saucy track 'PYD'.
R. Kelly has had a busy year, creating festive song 'Christmas, I'll Be Steppin'' for 'The Best Man Holiday' movie soundtrack, releasing his own album and pairing up with Lady Gaga to create the hit single 'Do What U Want'. The duo shocked viewers during their saucy performance of the track at the AMAs last month, simulating sex on-stage as they sung the raunchy track.
The 46-year-old recently announced that he's working on more chapters of his 'Hip Hopera' 'Trapped In The Closet', new episodes will be aired via the website IFC in 2014.
