PAUL Rudd has been cast as Ant-Man in Edgar Wright's superhero film about a scientist who can shrink himself down to the size of an insect.
Marvel Studios announced Rudd's casting in the film Ant-Man on Thursday.
The 44-year-old actor is starring in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
He'll play scientist Henry "Hank" Pym, who uses a chemical substance to change his size to fight crime.
The comic book studio says in a statement Rudd was its first choice for Ant-Man and his casting reflects its "desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its on-screen heroes."
Wright is the British comedy director of The World's End. He's been developing the film since 2006.
Disney will release Ant-Man in July 2015.
