A young girl has melted hearts across the nation after adorable footage of her signing her kindergarten Christmas concert for her deaf parents went viral.


Claire Koch, who is just 5 years old, was caught on camera using her fingers to spell out carol lyrics to mom Lori and dad Thomas.

They uploaded the clip to YouTube after hearing claims the sign language interpreter at the Nelson Mandela[2] memorial was a fraud.

"My 5-year-old signed even better for her deaf parents in an xmas show," Lori Koch tweeted to CNN's Piers Morgan - with a link to the clip.

The Kochs, from Tampa Bay, Fla., said they posted the clip to show how signing is done.

Speaking about the Mandela memorial, Koch told Fox 13[5] : "It became obvious he was making things up. He was repeating the same hand movements so it was obvious he was a fake."


"It was just totally deflating for deaf people, like saying deaf people are not important. This is a famous man who did so much for many people," added her husband Thomas[6] .
