"Super sweet wicked awesome." That comment from Ed Sheeran pretty much sums up how a lot of artists were feeling Friday night when they found out they were nominated for Grammy awards at "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!"[1] [2] [3]
It was a huge night for performers and first-time nominees[4] Lorde and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis[5] . But even Grammy vets like Pink, Pharrell Williams, Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift were geeking out about their nods.
Much as she did during the chopped and remixed version of "Royals" that she performed on the show, 16-year-old New Zealand sensation Lorde[6] kept things pretty cool when she tweeted a response[7] to her four-pack of nominations, which include Song of the year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. She also offered props to nominees Kendrick Lamar and James Blake.

Robin Thicke called[9] his three "Blurred Lines" nominations the "icing" on his big cake of 2013 awesome.
What an incredible honor, thank you to the Grammy committee for the nomination. This is the icing on the cake for this year. @TheGRAMMYs[10]

Pink has been there before, winning three Grammys amid 15 nominations to date. When a fan said, "You better get those Grammy nominations, mama!" and offered congratulations, Pink had a hilarious response[12] to scoring bids for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Song of the Year for "Just Give Me a Reason."
"@ladybusiness[13] : @Pink[14] you better get those Grammy nominations, mama! #congrats[15] " oh honey I can GET nominated! It's the winning I hv trbl w/

Perhaps she was tired from her acoustic ramble through "Roar" during the show, but Katy Perry didn't respond[18] to her two nominations for the song until Saturday morning (December 7). But once she woke up, she also had plenty of love for fellow nominees Kacey Musgraves[19] and Sara Bareilles[20] .
Well, that's a great way to wake up! Thank you @TheGRAMMYs[21] for my TWO nominations! Never imagined a lil old song about 🐯+💪 would have such❤️

Pharrell killed the night, geeking out[23] about scoring the second-most nominations thanks to his huge year behind the boards and on the choruses of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" and Thicke's "Blurred Lines," which earned him double dips in Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. He also grabbed an Album of the Year nod for his work with Daft Punk, and Kendrick Lamar and Producer of the Year (Non-Classical).
Man-nnn...thank you so much! "@TheGRAMMYs[24] : Congrats @pharrell[25] with 7 nominations! #GRAMMYnoms[26] "

EDM star Zedd didn't try to play it cool[28] at all when he found out he was on the board for Best Dance Recording thanks to his smash hit with Foxes, "Clarity."
HOLY SHIT!!! I'M NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY w/ CLARITY!!!!!!

/ Even though she's scored 11 nominations to date (with three wins), Kelly Clarkson was super-stoked[30] to share a nod for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with country icon Vince Gill for their duet, "Don't Rush."
Hey @VGcom[31] we just got nominated for a Grammy! Congrats you sexy soul singer! :)

Always one to keep things chill, "blimey"-faced[33] newbie Ed Sheeran was freaking out a bit about getting some Best New Artist love, deeming that honor "Awesome sauce." When he found out[34] he got a second one for his work on Album of the Year nominee Red from Taylor Swift, well, c'mon!
Oh, apparently I got 2 nominations. Super sweet wicked awesome

Swift has seven Grammys on her shelf already, but the four noms she picked up Friday night, including Album of the Year, Best Country Album, Best Country Song ("Being Again") and Best Country Duo/Group Performance ("Highway Don't Care") got her so pumped[36] she couldn't even use her keyboard.
I LOVE YOU GUYS WE GOT AN ALBUM OF THE YEAR NOMINATION AND I AM TOO EXCITED TO USE PUNCTUATION

One of the night's biggest surprises was an Album of the Year bid for singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles' fourth album, The Blessed Unrest. You know who was more surprised[38] than you? Sara. "I seriously can't stop shaking and now," she wrote[39] .
I never in a billion million years thought I'd be nominated for Album of the Year. I'm litterally shaking. Best birthday ever. Woah.
