December has been a big-news month for actress Keri Russell.

First, she woke up to find her Brooklyn home had been burglarized[1] . A day later in early December her rep confirmed that she and her husband of nearly seven years, carpenter Shane Deary, were splitting[2] .

And now People[3] is reporting that she and co-star Matthew Rhys of The Americans just might be getting very cozy.

"They play spies on television but are (they) keeping a real-life secret as well? the magazine teased today.

The evidence? Russell, 37, and Rhys, 39, were seen walking around her Brooklyn Heights neighborhood a few days before Christmas, shopping and looking at furniture on the street.

"They looked very much like a couple," an unnamed source told People. "They were laughing and walking closely together."

No comment from either but maybe they were just running scenes. The pair play KGB sleeper spies pretending to be an ordinary American couple living in suburban Washington, D.C. during the Reagan era. The second season of the FX series premieres Feb. 26.

Russell is the mother of two kids with Deary, River, 6, and Willa, nearly 2.

Rhys is a British actor (he's Welsh-born), who once played mad, bad and dangerous-to-know poet Lord Byron, and soon will appear as Mr. Darcy in Death Comes to Pemberley, a BBC mystery drama mashup of Pride and Prejudice. But he's best known over here as the gay brother in the now departed ABC family drama Brothers & Sisters.
