NEW YORK: Bob Dylan has been sued by a Croatian group in France after he compared Croatians to Nazis and Civil War-era slave owners, it has been revealed.

The 'Blowin' In The Wind' hitmaker had said in an interview to Rolling Stone[4] Magazine that if one has got slave master or Klan in their blood, then blacks can sense that, the New York Post reported.

He had said that the stuff still lingers to this day, just like Jews can sense Nazi blood and the Serbs can sense Croatian blood.

The Council of Croats in France has sued Dylan and the French edition of Rolling Stone and the singer and the publication, both could face fines and formal sanctions if a court rules them as guilty.

Serbians and Croatians have been at loggerheads since Serbia allegedly committed genocide on Croatian citizens in the '90s when Yugoslavia broke up.

Dylan, who was awarded France's prestigious Legion of Honour in November, played gigs in Belgrade, Serbia and the Croatian capital of Zagreb in 2010. He also performed in Belgrade for a concert in 1991, before Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia in 1995 after a four-year war.
