A “Glee” actress. An Osbourne. A “High School Musical” star. A sitcom queen. And a stand-up comic.
Which of our remaining five stars would survive “Dancing With the Stars” semifinals on Monday night?
Better yet, who would survive bad boy pro dancer Maks Chmerkovskiy (wearing a jaunty bow tie) as guest judge? (He actually turned out to be quite tame, offering up lots of "great" remarks throughout the night.)
Bill Engvall seemed to be most in jeopardy. Were his fans able to conjure up enough votes to overcome his low scores and keep him in the competition?
Here's how Monday's semifinals played out with all of the judges — Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Maks and Bruno Tonioli s — as Season 17 gets ready to wrap up next week with a final show on Monday and the finale on Tuesday.
Each star had to dance twice to the same song, giving them two chances to earn points.
Amber Riley paid a visit to the doctor this week, and he told the Glee star she isn't facing any permanent damage in her knees. So she was "fired up." Partner Derek Hough said her "focus and excitement" have never been better. They blew everyone in the ballroom away with their white-gloved jazz dance to Bruno Mars' “Locked Out of Heaven.” Len said, "Do it again." Bruno said it was "incredible. ... The sync was out of this world." Carrie Ann said she is in "a class" of her own. "If Einstein could dance, I imagine that's how he would dance." Maks raved, too. "It looks like it comes easy to you." Scores: 10, 10, 9, 10 = 39
Amber grew up in Los Angeles. She started going on singing auditions at age 15, including “American Idol,” which she did not make. But Glee in 2009 changed everything. Her Viennese Waltz with Derek for Round 2 was a beautiful, fast and filled with twirls. Len "loved it!" Bruno said, "You dance like an angel." Carrie Ann called her "so special," saluting her interpretation of the music. Maks said it was "a little disturbing" that he was agreeing with Carrie Ann so much. "You're amazing." Scores: 10, 10, 10, 10 = 40 Total: 79
Corbin Bleu and partner Karina Smirnoff weren't taking anything for granted. Karina worried a little about having Maks on the panel. "Maks and I were engaged at one point," she said, "so I think it could go either way for Corbin and me, but hopefully it'll go the good way." Their tango was fiery and dramatic, with flames spouting on stage behind them. The crowd loved it. Bruno said Corbin's passion was "almost untame-able," but noted that the celeb lost his frame at times. Carrie Ann said it was "the fastest, most intense tango ever." Maks said his frame was "great," and "the content was amazing," but noted his "butt was sticking out a little bit." Len said it was "too full on." Scores: 9, 8, 9, 9 = 35
Before the second round, we learned that Corbin has been performing since he was a little boy. But he also loved science and wanted to be a pediatrician. He was accepted to Stanford at the same time he was offered the role in “High School Musical.” His passion for acting won out. (!) Corbin's rumba with Karina showed off his sexy moves and sexy bod, as he performed shirtless. Bruno called it "heaven." Carrie Ann said all she could think is "your body is a wonderland." Maks paid a compliment to Karina, who ran over to kiss him, and he said Corbin was "amazing." Len said it was "great." Scores: 10, 10, 10, 10 = 40 Total: 75
Jack Osbourne said during rehearsals this week that at one point he started feeling "not so hot." He said he was having vision problems in his left eye (similar to when he was diagnosed with M.S.) and had pains in his arm. He said they were going to take a "different approach" to rehearsals, taking it a little easier. But, he vowed, "I'm still in it to win it." Mom Sharon Osbourne wept as she watched her son perform. He was able to lift partner Cheryl Burke above his head during their jazz dance to Police song “Roxanne.” And their showy performance was a hit with the audience. Carrie Ann said she could tell it wasn't his most comfortable dance. Maks thought it was "great." Len said it "lacked a little bit of finesse." Bruno said it was "very, very good." Scores: 8, 8, 9, 8 = 33
Jack opened up about drinking and doing drugs and wanting to overdose as a teen. At 17, he went into rehab, said mom Sharon. "I absolutely adore him," said dad Ozzy. Then, Jack recalled, he got married and had a baby and the M.S. diagnosis. "It's the new reality now," he said. Their tango was precise and sharp and wowed the ballroom. Carrie Ann said he was "in the zone." Maks said it was "great." Len said this was "so much better" than his first dance. Bruno called it a "great achievement." Scores: 10, 9, 9, 10 = 38 Total: 71
Leah Remini said in rehearsals, "This could be the end of the line for me, so I'm really hoping I knock it out of the park." She and partner Tony Dovolani danced a fierce paso doble to Lady Gaga's “Bad Romance.” She got a little caught up in her dress. Len said it was "precise" and "neat" and maybe "a little too careful." Bruno agreed and said she missed two turns. Carrie Ann said it was a "rough road." Maks said he "liked it." He said he was "overlooking" the skirt problem; it wasn't a technical mistake. Scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32
Before Round 2, Leah talked about how hard it was to get her big break in TV, a 1989 show called “Living Dolls.” When she landed “King of Queens,” which lasted for more than 200 episodes, she said it was "love at first sight." Chelsea Handler said she's a "really great friend who ... has a lot of spirit." Her Argentine tango was even more dramatic than her first dance as a string trio played “Bad Romance.” Len said he didn't think she "quite embraced the dance fully." Bruno "quite liked" it. Carrie Ann said her problem is lack of confidence. Maks called her "a real woman." Scores: 8, 8, 8, 9 = 33 Total: 65
Bill Engvall said it was "amazing" he's still in the competition, but he added, "There's only one thing left for us to do — finish this bad boy out." But during rehearsals on Sunday a groin pull flared up again. He vowed he would do his best. He and partner Emma Slater danced a cha cha to “Sexy and I Know It.” Maks said, "I don't believe in talent. I believe in hard work ... You're amazing. A lot of people are looking up to you for even attempting this." Len praised Emma's work and said Bill is the "people's champion." Bruno said, "Obviously you're not Baryshnikov" but said he was "magical." Carrie Ann thanked him for bringing "the joy" to the ballroom. Scores: 7, 7, 7, 7 = 28
The comic had a "normal" childhood, did his first standup show in 1978 and was "drinking a lot" while wife Gail was at home with the family in his early days. "I don't know where I'd be without her." Larry the Cable Guy said, "I thought he'd be out the first week" of “Dancing With the Stars.” "I had a couple hundred-dollar bets. I had to pay up on those -- to his wife and kids." Gail, shedding a tear, said, "I love that people love him." For Round 2, Bill and Emma danced an Argentine tango that was sexy and slow-paced and well-suited to Bill. Maks said it was "great" and filled with "passion and emotion." Len said he was "full of heart." Bruno said he "played it well." Carrie Ann loved that he "didn't joke around" and noted that he "didn't miss a beat." Finally! Scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32 Total: 60

The finals are Monday. The mirrorball trophy will be handed out on Tuesday.
