Taylor Swift planned ahead for the week of Christmas and posted a throwback video on Instagram on Monday[1] instead of Thursday.

The adorable clip shows the pop star at the tender age of 4 talking on the phone.

"Christmas 1993, on a very important phone call with Britany," she captioned the video[2] .

The 20-year-old Christmas home video shows exactly how far the 24-year-old singer has come in her life. The innocent baby girl with a wavy blond bob and red pajama dress is now a woman who's regarded as one of the biggest musical stars today.

Swift just completed her "Red" world tour in time for the holidays. But fans need not worry because the pop princess is only taking a short break before returning to the grind of her career.

The singer's latest song "Sweeter than Fiction" accompanies the release of the British indie comedy film "One Chance," which is a true story based on an amateur opera singer who won "Britain's Got Talent."

"I fell in love with the film after I got to see it," she told Entertainment Weekly[4] . "I don't think (producer Harvey Weinstein) needed to say a word; he knew I'd go and write an end credits song."

My how she's grown! Not only is Taylor Swift one of the biggest stars around, her song is up for a Golden Globe.

And that's exactly what she did. In fact, the song has already received a Golden Globe nomination.

"I got a text from Lena (Dunham) as soon as it happened, and she's like, 'Holy Golden Globe nomination!'" Swift said.

The country star collaborated with Dunham's boyfriend Jack Antonoff, the guitarist for the group Fun, for the film's hit song. She's also longtime friends with the "Girls" star.

"I texted back: 'Don't lie, that's not funny,'" she continued[6] . "I called her up and I was screaming. And she was screaming. And then Jack woke up, and he was screaming. It happened on my birthday so it was the most unbelievable occurrence."

But no matter how many highs Swift reaches in her career, the young singer continues to soar with ambition.

"I try to have a very steppingstone mentality about this whole thing, where as soon as you make one step you visualize the next step, not five steps ahead," she told EW. "I would love to win another Grammy. I would love to get to go to the Oscars someday."
