After winning a lawsuit that disputed the ownership of a portrait of the late Farrah Fawcett done by Andy Warhol, Ryan O'Neal said that he won't be slapping a price tag on it ever.
While talking with Today on Monday, the actor spoke about the painting saying, "It will never be sold." According to The Hollywood Reporter[1] he continued, "It will go on to her son Redmond and his children" and so on. "That's all that was left" after the actress's most up to date will left nothing to O'Neal.
O'Neal said he heard about the verdict from his son while undergoing a minor surgical procedure and he noted, "There was blood running down the side of my face, and then there were tears running down the side of my face, mixing with the blood. It was a pretty amazing moment for me."
Last Thursday, the jury in the case between the University of Texas Austin and O'Neal ruled[2] that Fawcett's long-time partner could keep the Warhol painting.
After Fawcett passed, most of her artworks were willed to the college, but O'Neal said that one of the two Warhol's was really his and that he talked to it[3] .
O'Neal had maintained throughout the court case that he would not be letting go of the painting should he win the court case.
