The pair got engaged[2] in Miami on Saturday and posted to Instagram[3] a picture of Union's impressive new sparkler, but this snapshot of the couple just moments after they decided to get married takes the (wedding) cake.
Wade is still down on one knee, while Union embraces him, burying her face in a gesture of surprise and joy.
The couple have been dating since 2009 and sent out Christmas cards together from the "Wade-Union Family" this year.
Union says she and the Miami Heat guard have a pact that they watch their favorite TV show, Scandal [4] , together for date night.
"A date night in involves a lot of DVR'd television and Garret's popcorn from Chicago, we like to fly it in," she told PEOPLE[5] in February. "And we watch Scandal, it's our favorite show. And if one of us watches an episode before the other, it's grounds for dismissal. So if you see a random breakup, it's because I've watched Scandal," she joked.
