We knew something was off when Miley Cyrus's name mysteriously disappeared from the website selling tickets for the New Year's Eve party she was to host at the Fontainebleau with performances by Pharrell and Afrojack. Now we know why. She got a better gig.

Here's the official statement: “We are sorry to announce Miley Cyrus will not be hosting New Year’s Eve from Fontainebleau Miami Beach. She has accepted a great opportunity with Ryan Seacrest — the opportunity to join the legacy of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve live from Times Square.”

The main host of the Fontainebleau party is now Grammy-nominated recording artist-producer Pharrell Williams; performances will be by Pharrell and Afrojack.

But you’ll be able to see Miley, just not in the flesh: The statement adds that the hotel will be collaborating with Dick Clark Productions to bring some of the poolside festivities to the New York party/telecast.

Stepping up

Let’s see if Tracy Morgan sticks to his commitments as grand marshal of Saturday night’s Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

“We hope spectators will give him extra waves and lots of applause for flying to Fort Lauderdale to lead the parade,” said Michael Volkert, president of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, of the 30 Rock star.
