Madonna posts pic of 13-year-old son holding liquor bottle - New York Daily News

Madonna's 13-year-old son Rocco Ritchie ^[1] should be like a virgin to liquor. But in a photo posted to the "Express Yourself" singer's Instagram Saturday ^[2] , he appears to be quite experienced.

"The party has just begun!" Madonna captioned the snapshot of her teenage son holding a bottle of gin. "Bring it! 2014."

According to E! News ^[4] , the photo was taken in the Swiss Alps where the legal drinking age is 16. So Rocco is still too young to legally enjoy the liquor.

He poses in the photo with two friends, who also appear to be underage and are both holding bottles of vodka.

Madge immediately received criticism over the photo.

"Booze is not something to make jokes about. Period!" @schoelink wrote on Instagram ^[6] .

"Madonna still doing anything for attention," @myfiftiesarefab wrote ^[8] . "Good or bad. What a shame."

"Some people are over reacting about this photo," @piashafierce wrote ^[9] in defense of the "Material Girl ^[10] ." "This is just a photo of a teenager holding a bottle of gin, no proof that they're drinking."

Madonna posted yet another photo Sunday with the two young men who appeared alongside Rocco in the controversial pic.

"No one was drinking we were just having fun! Calm down and get a sense of humor!" she captioned the photo ^[11] . "Don't start the year off with judgement!"
