Young Jeezy[1] is facing serious charges after an assault on his son, which came to light more than a year after the incident took place back in September 2012.
The rapper was arrested and released on $45,000 bond last Friday, according to TMZ[2] . He's charged with battery, false imprisonment and making "terroristic threats" against his son.
A detailed summary of the incident reportedly reveals that Jeezy (born Jay Jenkins) got in a fight with his son that quickly escalated to violent levels. The victim alleged that he was thrown into a shower door and cut his head on the glass, before being dragged into the bedroom where he was repeatedly assaulted.
During the assault, Jeezy's son claims that a bodyguard prevented him from escaping, while his father choked him and threatened, "I will kill you. If I could get away with it, I would kill you."
The rapper, whose moment recent album is 2011's TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition, was forced to turn himself into police last weekend after being issued a grand jury warrant, but he was eventually released after posting $45,000 bond.
In a statement to TMZ, Jeezy's lawyer asked that the public be respectful while the rapper dealt with the private matter.
"We have no doubt this matter will resolve itself appropriately," his lawyer said. "At this moment, Mr. Jenkins is thankful for the support of his fans and the respect for his family's privacy."
Back in September 2013, Jeezy made an appearance on "RapFix Live" where he spoke to host Sway Calloway about his recent endeavors, including signing Detroit rap group Doughboyz Cashout to his CTE label.
