This trailer is a teaser to Interstellar, Christopher Nolan[1] ’s new film to be released in November 2014, is being shown in some cinemas before The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug[2] .

Made by Warner Bros and Paramount, the film, which only started filming in August, boasts a star studded cast. Matthew McConaughey will star as Cooper alongside Brit Michael Caine[3] . Other stars include Anne Hatheway[4] , Casey Affleck, Ellen Burstyn, American Beauty’s Wes Bentley, Jessica Chastain, Mackenzie Foy[5] , Bill Irwin, David Oyelowo and John Lithgow.

A sci-fi drama, the plot chronicles the adventures of a group of scientist explorers who use newly discovered wormholes to travel through different dimensions and cover vast distances in order to bring back food to their dying planet.

Nolan extended and edited the screenplay originally written by his brother, Jonathan. It is inspired by the work of theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, and in order to get its aerial shots has employed IMAX filming techniques: strapping an IMAX camera to a Learjet

The trailer starts with clips from actual space missions, followed by a flash of a blue truck, a child grasping an adult’s hand, as the two stand in a cornfield watching a rocket blast into the sky. The sequence is narrated by McConaughey, “Our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

Christopher Nolan gained recognition with his 2000 film Memento, before achieving phenomenal box office success with the Heath Ledger fronted Batman trilogy. His 2010 Inception[6] , starring Leonardo DiCaprio, received wide critical acclaim.
