Web-slinging superhero's second outing will hit cinemas in May next year

Director Marc Webb finished shooting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in June of this year and the film is set to open worldwide on May 2, 2014. Andrew Garfield is back as Peter Parker and Emma Stone reprises her role as Gwen Stacy, while Jamie Foxx will play the villainous Electro.
Alongside Foxx, Chronicle star Dane DeHaan is another new addition to the cast and plays Harry Osborn, Peter Parker's best friend. Shailene Woodley had been due to appear as Mary Jane Watson, but her role has recently been cut from the film[1] and MJ will now make her Amazing Spider-Man debut in the third movie, due in 2016.
It was recently revealed that the film's score will be provided by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Johnny Marr[2] , while screenwriters Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, who all share the credit for writing the superhero sequel, have reportedly agreed to reunite to pen a third and fourth installment[3] in the series due in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
