Call Me Maybe singer Carly Rae Jepsen will make her Broadway debut in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, according to The Hollywood Reporter [1] .
"Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl," said Jepsen, 28, "and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented cast to tell this classic tale."
The Grammy-nominated pop singer, who is currently working on her new album, has some big glass slippers to fill in the title role.
Julie Andrews starred in the original 1957 TV musical, and Jepsen will replace Laura Osnes, who earned a Tony nomination for her stage performance.
But Jepsen[2] , who began performing in musical theater as a high schooler and will star in the production for three months beginning Feb. 4, will have some star power alongside her.
The Nanny's Fran Drescher[3] will also join the show Feb. 4, playing Cinderella's stepmother, Madame.
Playwright Douglas Carter Beane adapted the current production from the original, and the musical earned a total of nine Tony nominations this year.
