NEW YORK, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Former "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker celebrated his 90th birthday by appearing on the game show and calling for contestants to "come on down."

Barker said it was one of his biggest television wishes to be able to shout out those famous words for the first time, People magazine reported.

In his 35 years of hosting the game show, he had never called for contestants to "come on down;" that was the announcer's job.

To celebrate his milestone birthday, Barker was given a giant cake and time to promote the show's pet adoption week.

Comedian Drew Carey took over hosting duties for "The Price is Right" in 2007 when Barker retired.
