Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave and David O. Russell's American Hustle lead the 19th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards nominees with 13 bids each.
Both films are nominated for best picture, actor, supporting actor and actress, acting ensemble, director, editing, costume design and make up.
Alfonso Cuaron's space odyssey, Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock, also tops the list with 10 nominations, including best picture, actress, director and visual effects.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug logged five.

Those up for lead actor and actress include Robert Redford for All is Lost, Matthew McConaughey for Dallas Buyers Club, Cate Blanchett for Blue Jasmine, and Meryl Streep for August: Osage County.
The awards will be held on January 16 in Santa Monica, California.
The show will air live on the CW Network and will be hosted by Aisha Tyler.
