Survivor[1] 's Jeff Probst[2] and several of the show's former contestants are banding together to help raise money for the Philippines after the country suffered major damage from Typhoon Haiyan, Entertainment Weekly[3] reports.




The telethon, which will air on Wednesday following Survivor on CBS-owned TV stations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sacramento, will raise money through the Red Cross for victims of Haiyan. Probst and ex-contestants will be speaking and answering phones during the telethon, which will take place in Los Angeles from 6 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. Lisa Whelchel[4] , John Cochran, Malcolm Freberg, Phillip Sheppard and Jonathan Penner are among the former players that are slated to participate.

Survivor has actually shot four seasons in the Philippines, including 2012's Survivor: Philippines, 2013's Survivor: Carmoan - Fans vs. Favorites, Survivor: Blood vs. Water, which is currently airing, and next spring's as-yet-untitled outing.
