Yes, Miley Cyrus smoked marijuana[1] on stage at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards.

Video of the singer's actions while accepting the trophy for Best Video went viral almost immediately, but many questions whether the joint in Miley's lips was real because... come on. Who does that?!?

But in an interview yesterday with UK's Capital FM radio station, Cyrus confirmed her legitimate (legal) drug use at the ceremony.

"I was just walking out of my room and then I was like, 'Oh, I have this in my bag. That will be really funny,'" said Miley, explaining the move as random and spontaneous. "And I didn't say anything to anybody."

In the past, Miley has defended her controversial actions - such as Twerking in scarcely any clothing[2] with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs - as part of a well thought-out PR strategy.

But she claims this was different. This wasn't meant to elicit headlines.

"I just did it mostly because I knew the fans in Amsterdam would love it, and they started going crazy when I did it," she said. "But I don't really care what the media says because I don't Google myself, so I don't know what they say. And I don't care."

We're calling BS on that claim for sure. Really, Miley? You don't check to see the reaction to your publicity stunts?!?

Miley Cyrus EMA Performance, Joint Smoking

Overall, Cyrus says she was most happy that the focus in Europe after the show was less on her joint smoking and more on her singing and dancing, such as her rendition of We Can't Stop[3] .

"Everyone was hitting me up about my performance and how I sounded and things like that, which is so different than the states," she said of reaction to the EMAs. "Because even when I did the VMAs, everything just became about the teddy bears or what I was wearing … People over here kind of like to listen, and they take in all of it."

What do you think about Miley smoking on stage?
