ROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty Images Angelina Jolie[1] choked back tears as she received her humanitarian honor at the Governors Awards.
Upon receiving the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the ceremony, the Oscar winner thanked Brad Pitt[2] , among others, saying, "My love. Your support and your guidance make everything I do possible."
The actress's hubby-to-be and their son, Maddox, were on hand to support Jolie as she received the honor for her tireless humanitarian efforts.
Before she took the stage, veteran actress Gena Rowland and George Lucas[3] both took time to talk about Jolie's philanthropic contributions.

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images Before the awards portion of the evening kicked off, Jolie held court at a front table during dinner, chatting with Emma Thompson[5] , Ed Begley Jr., Tatum O'Neal, director Steve McQueen and Raquel Welch, among others, before the awards ceremony began.
The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, is given "to an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry," Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs said when they announced this year's honorees in September.
Honorary Oscars were also handed out to Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin[6] and costume designer Piero Tosi.
